Pentads | Egyptian Gods Numerical Groups

pen·tad Noun /ˈpenˌtad/
pentads plural
  1. A group or set of five
Although not a common numerical grouping of deities, pentads are occasionally found in Egyptian mythology. The five "epagomenal" days added at the end of the Egyptian year to raise the total of days from 360 (12x30-day months) to 365 were assigned as the "birthdays" of the deities Osiris, Isis, Horus, Seth and Naphthys, making a distinct group of these related deities. In the Hermopolitan tradition the title "Great of Five" was also applied to the god Thos.
